Farewell My Lovely Sister

Dear Terra,

Have a wonderful time in Spain! BTW, what's Spain? I hope it's everything you dream and more. I certainly hope it's more than I dream about, which is milk and making the dog stay while I pull her hair... Can't wait to Skype you. I'll be slingin' it and messing with the dog until you get back.

PS I hope I have some hair when you get back ;)

Normal and Healthy

Last month (at her 4 month check up) our Dr. said our baby was "Normal and Healthy..." I said "Is that a permanent condition...that normal thing?"

I'm just kidding...I love that she's normal and healthy. I love that it's normal that she slaps the food off my spoon so that she can have some before I get it all into my mouth. I love that it's normal that she grabs my water glass for the same reason, but then she doesn't know what to do with the water and it rolls down her double chin. She still makes me put it to her lips every time. I think it's funny that it's normal that her poop looks weird. Lol. And I'm really happy that at 5 months she's:

  • Laughing
  • Recognizing us...and our importance to her (she cries at Daddy to put her in the sling when she's tired)
  • Objects when a toy is taken away
  • Can see across the living room
  • Uses her feet to hold things just as well as with her hands
  • Daddy thinks she's left handed (I guess you'd have to ask him why)
  • Sitting up without assistance for short periods
  • Standing against something
  • Pushing from knees to standing with hands on back of couch
  • Rolling
  • She's very good at "happy baby" pose and can get her feet to her mouth
  • Using the bouncer and interacting with all the toys
  • Looking in a direction of a noise...and very recently, a word (her name, although not because it's her name, but because it's one of our voices)
  • Eating small amounts of our food and recently, baby food (sweet potatoes and squash)
  • Her thighs are too big for Chris to put his hand around. Like thunder they are!
  • "Talking" to the dog trying to make her sit patiently and be pet...that doesn't go well!
  • Looking better in BabyGap than I ever have in just about anything!
At her 4 month check up (last month) she was:
  • 25" tall
  • 15.15 lbs.
She has grown since last month, of course. The reason you didn't see this last month was not because I got lazy (although I can't say I wasn't ;))...but because blogspot lost my post. So, sorry. It was up...and then it wasn't. Boo. All is well. Hoorah hoorah!
